Smokeless Cigarettes What is propylene glycol?

There has been a lot of warnings and press releases produced by the FDA stating that electronic cigarettes are harmful because they use propylene glycol in the cartridges to produce the vapor which is also used in antifreeze and therefore electronic cigarettes must be harmful.

Although propylene glycol is one of the primary agents in some antifreeze products, this brand or type of antifreeze is produced with propylene glycol to be labeled as a “non-toxic” antifreeze, so that they may be used in food-processing systems, water pipes for homes and many other applications where typical antifreeze with ethylene glycol can’t be used.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined propylene glycol to be “generally recognized as safe” for use in food, cosmetics, and medicines. It is used in food coloring, and flavoring, as an additive to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist, and in machines that simulate smoke.

Smokeless Cigarettes What Makes Up A Smokeless Cigarette

Many people don’t understand exactly how a smokeless cigarette even works. Smokeless cigarettes, Electronic Cigarettes, or E-Cigarette are a brand new technology that are taking over the smoking industry so not a lot of people have every heard of an e-cigarette or even seen one in real life.

The e-cig is made up of basically 3 parts, the battery, the atomizer, and the cartridge.

The battery of an e-cigarette makes up the majority of the electronic cigarette, it’s basically everything past the “butt” of the e-cig. It has an L.E.D. light at the tip that lights up when you inhale through it, this gives it the appearance of a traditional cigarette.

Next, there is an atomizer which screws into the battery. The atomizer, like it’s name suggests, atomizes the e-liquid (we’ll get to this below) and nicotine into a fine smoke-like vapor. The atomizer is charged by the battery and gets warm to the touch when used, but not hot enough to burn anything.

The last part is the cartridge. The cartridge contains the e-liquid. E-Liquid is what provides the electronic cigarette with the flavor and nicotine. The atomizer uses the e-liquid to produce the vapor. E-liquids come in flavors like regular tobacco and menthol. Once the e-liquid runs out the e-cigarette will no longer produce vapor and the cartridge will have to be changed. The e-cig cartridge is comparable to a pack of traditional cigarettes. Luckily for e-smokers, cartridges cost much less than a pack of cigarettes, usually around 1.60 each, and they come in packs of 5 or more.

It is a new day we are winning the battle with FDA.

For those who don’t know about the situation with the FDA and Electronic Cigarettes here is a very brief overview.

Early last year when E-Cigs started becoming very popular, the FDA step in and stated that they needed to be approved by the FDA before selling in the USA. They also started confiscating shipments to suppliers and put out a press release warning consumers by stating that they were harmful and worse that real cigarettes. They also confiscated over 50 shipments from two US suppliers NJoy and Smoking Everywhere and ran tests on the products. Then later came out with another press release with their lab report stating that E-Cigarettes were harmful. It was later found that their tests were incomplete and the products were tested incorrectly. Due to their press releases and lab results, many have found and stated in other press releases that the were just being lobbied by Big Tobacco. In August 2007 Smoking Everywhere sued the FDA for confiscating their shipments and there is a lot of data about what was going on the suit which we will not get into here, but here is the latest article.

According to this article http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20100114-712528.html?mod=WSJ_latestheadlines ,U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon said the FDA doesn’t have authority to regulate electronic cigarettes.

This is great news for all E-Cigarette Smokers, Suppliers and Manufacturers. Thanks to NJoy, Smoking Everywhere and the Electronic Cigarette Association (ECA) for all your hard work in pursuing to Electronic Cigarettes industry stay alive and so we all can experience a healthier life.

Smokeless Cigarettes What is the Best Smokeless Cigarette to Buy?

Currently on the market there are many options when choosing a Smokeless Cigarette or Electronic Cigarette.

This data comes from personal experience, surveys from others, and current reviews.

There are few basic Electronic Cigarettes types.

1. The Pen Style, is one of the first types electronic cigarettes on the Market. I have found that it works well, but is very heavy and large. It also doesn’t look like a cigarette and more like a Pen, hence “Pen Style”. I found this type not to perform any better than the other types as well.

2. Mini Electronic Cigarette, is your typical model sold on the market today. It is similar in size to tranditional cigarettes and I found that this type depending on which brand will perform the best in regards to amount of vapor production and battery life.

3. Super Mini Electronic Cigarette, just like the Mini Electronic Cigarette, but smaller. This type does work well and is cool because it so small, but I have found that the battery and cartridges don’t last very long. In comparison to the Mini Electronic Cigarettes, the battery life and cartridges last about half the time.

If you are like me who used to smoke 20 cigarettes a day and are looking for a healthier alternative, I would recommend the a Mini Electronic Cigarette type. Compared to the rest you will get the most satisfaction out of this type, the Pen Style might be large and heavy in the mouth and the Super Mini Electronic Cigarette might make you frustrated on how many times you have to charge the battery or change out the cartridge.

I have used many brands of Electronic Cigarettes my reccomendation for first time Electronic Cigarette users and old timers is a brand Lucky Slicks http://www.luckyslicks.com . I have their Slick Retro Model and has been the most reliable one that I have come across, plus their price is low and the flavors are good.

Smokeless Cigarettes Can an Electronic Cigarette Help You Quit Smoking?

If you are looking to quit smoking an Electronic Cigarette might just be what you are looking for.

Electronic Cigarettes produce a water vapor that carries Nicotine minus 1,400 other chemicals compared to traditional cigarettes. Over the last few years there has been many cases of smokers kicking the habit using electronic cigarettes. An Electronic Cigarette gives you the oral sensation and with the vapor produced it simulates smoking. The best proven method for using an electronic cigarette to quit smoking is to start out with your cartridges that have nicotine and then switch to the non nicotine cartridges.

Due to the FDA trying to categorize electronic cigarettes so that they can regulate it, many Electronic Cigarette companies will not promote that their electronic cigarette can be used to quit smoking. However if you ask anyone who has used an electronic cigarette to quit smoking they will probably tell you that it is the most effective way to quit.

Smokeless Cigarettes Where To Buy The Best Electronic Cigarettes Starter Kit?

Not all Electronic Cigarettes are created equal. There can be many differences between the look, feel and functionality of various e-cigarette products. Finding the best Electronic Cigarette online will require carefully looking at all the factors.

1) The Look
Electronic Cigarettes come in many shapes, sizes and colors, from bright red to traditional white and even various patterns. Many of these designs can come off very noisy and obnoxious, and make you stand out a little bit more than you may like. The most popular look is the obvious white with a tan butt, just like a regular tobacco cigarette. The benefits to these types are that you won’t stand out in a crowed and you can enjoy your habit just like a regular smoker. Another popular design is the all black e-cigarette, it’s a little more trendy and can be a lot of fun at parties or gatherings.

2) The Feel
Many electronic cigarettes are very long or wide, this can be cumbersome when trying to use them. In addition many have tapered ends which only make the e-cig look and feel different than a normal cigarette. The weight of an e-cig can also disrupt the experience, especially if it’s very heavy, these are after all just small batteries. The best electronic cigarettes online will be ones that are similar to the same size and feel as a traditional cigarette.

3) Functionality
A final factor, and probably the most important is how well the electronic cigarette device actually works. Does it create enough smoke like vapor in order to satisfy the smoking experience? Does the battery last long enough between charging? Does the cartridge last long enough (usually at least similar to a pack). Can I decide my nicotine flavors and strengths? Can I get a refund if I don’t like it? Is there a warranty in case any of the parts malfunction?
These are all questions you’ll have to ask when trying to find the best Electronic Cigarette online.

Smokeless Cigarettes How Does An Electronic Cigarette Work?

The basic concept of an Electronic Cigarette is a miniature smoke machine, except that the smoke produced you directly inhale and can possibly carry specific amounts of nicotine in the smoke.

The most popular Electronic Cigarettes are made up of 3 components, 1. rechargeable battery, 2. Atomizer and 3. Cartridge

1. Rechargable Battery: Most electronic cigarettes use a lithuim rechargable battery with a LED indicator on the tip that lights up when the cigarette is inhaled. They are also built with a micro processor chip. This tells the battery when the cigarette is being inhaled and to turn on.

2. Atomizer: The Atomizer is a miniature heating element that screws into the bottom of the battery. When battery turns on it heats up the atomizer to a low temperature which in turn vaporizes the water nicotine solution and creates the smoke.

3. Cartridge: The cartridge holds the water nicotine solution and is inserted onto the atomizer. With most brands of Electronic cigarettes, on average 1 cartridge equals 20 traditional cigarettes.

With all 3 components together you just puff on the end of the cartridge and it will produce a water vapor that you can inhale carrying nicotine in the water vapor so you can satisfy your nicotine cravings.

Smokeless Cigarettes Cartridges VS. E-Liquid

Many people are confused about how cartridges and e-liquids work for electronic cigarettes. Hopefully I can clear up this topic a little bit today.

The cartridge of an e-cigarette is a small plastic tube that slips on to the end of the e-cigarette acting as the butt. It has a small sponge in the bottom of it that comes pre-filled with e-liquid. The E-Liquid is what the atomizer uses to create a smoke like vapor. The e-liquid also contains the flavor and nicotine that you choose. Once the cartridge runs out of e-liquid it will stop producing vapor and need to be replaced. Cartridges come usually in packs of five or cases of twenty. The cartridge is comparable to one pack of regular cigarettes. However, the price of a cartridge averages out to about $1.50 each, much less than today’s tobacco cigarettes.

The electronic cigarette smoker has the option to continue to buy pre-filled cartridges or if they want they can buy small bottles of e-liquid and refill their cartridges on their own. This second option is actually very easy and reduces the expense of e-smoking even further. Kind of like buying in bulk. To refill a cartridge you only need to put a few drops (usually 5-8) of e-liquid into the cartridge and you continue to smoke.
